Ordered two leaf springs, separate tracking numbers. One their way to NY- the first one arrived last Saturday, this one is going on a sweet road trip. Current estimated delivery is next Thursday.

I wonder why they shipped them seperately instead of in the same package? Shipping cost maybe?

No boxes, just a shipping label slapped on em. Pretty common with leaf springs, never have gotten them shipped another way.

I always wonder if some employee at the end of the shift still has a pile of stuff to sort, but instead of sorting just shoves it all into the next truck and figures the next place will sort it.

I’ve never had leaf springs shipped so I wouldn’t know. But it makes sense... there’s not much to break.
I have a buddy who works for UPS, I’ve had this happen too, where a package goes all over creation before it gets to me, he said it’s usually just a mistake, somebody sticks it in the wrong bin by accident.

I’ve asked a buddy who is a plant engineer for UPS and he told me a lot of the sorting is automated now. Though sometimes the machines break or something and they have to sort manually, that’s when the mistakes are made.

Yup, I figured it was just mistake and it landed itself on the truck.

That will be a well traveled spring before it has even been bolted to a car.

FedEx is the worst. I ordered 2 cameras and a smoke detector from Nest directly a few weeks ago. They shipped from a location approximately 20 miles from me. 2 day shipping. Created Wednesday and p
icked up Thursday morning, got to the local
sort facility Thursday afternoon. Sat until Monday. Delivered Monday.
